Pre-Anniversary Weekend

We realized earlier in the summer that most theme parks, etc. close after Labor Day. Since we wanted to enjoy a water park or something similar we decided to go to Wisconsin Dells for our anniversary weekend one week early. We got up early on Sunday, hit up the outlet malls, a roller coaster, mini golf, a movie, go karts, one fancy restaurant, one BBQ pit, and one lumberjack-themed breakfast buffet in two days! Our favorite part of the trip had to be Noah's Ark water park. Neither of us had been in at least 5 years and we had a blast! We went right as the park opened and hit up over 16 rides in four and a half hours! It was awesome; the second picture is us leaving the park - look how empty the parking lot is! Great time of year to go (back to school) and the weather was perfect!

New Favorite Website
One of our interns told me about this site. I think it's hilarious. For anyone who knows about my love of food I think you can see why it's right up my alley. Enjoy and expect to leave hungry!

Barker Lake

It was up to the lake for a long weekend. The weather was great and it was a lot of fun. Andrew headed to East Troy to see two Dave Matthews Band shows, so he wasn't able to make it....boo hoo. Pictures in order are: 1. Sunflowers looking spectacular before they become oil. 2. Me and Chiquita (Beth, Lusmila, & Julissa's new puppy) sitting on the dock fishing. 3. Mom checking out the merchandise at the Winter Greenhouse. 4. About to enjoy an ultimate smore on the deck. Ultimate means mini Red, White, & Blue marshmallows, chocolate, and Tremblay's Fudge melted on it! 5. Finishing up the breakfast buffet at Famous Dave's. I am not usually a big fan of buffets, but Famous Dave's is the best! Eggs Benedict, Pecan Waffles, and the best berry triffle ever!

WY Cattle
I shot this video leaving one of our field sites. It was pretty funny. You pass through a fairly remote ranch and the cattle really were on their own agenda.
I'm back!

So, my trip was awesome! We got a lot of field work accomplished and it really helps to have the entire group together for meetings, instead of our normal conference calls. I took about 200 pictures, mainly of field work, so I won't throw pictures of my colleagues up on here, but I am putting up some pictures of the Snowy Range in Medicine Bow National Forest. We were driving between locations in Southeast Wyoming and the time of day really made the colors pop. It was absolutely beautiful! I'm enclosing a picture of my "extreme eating" so Andrew doesn't feel bad that I outed him on his (our) love for huge portions of authentic Mexican food. Yes, in that cheesy-bean mess there is two enchiladas and a taco. No, I only made it through half..... Last picture is from a local pig wrestling event at the county fair. Yes, you read that right.
