I'm a UD Celebrity!

From the UD Alumni Magazine Lanterns. Interestingly enough, the scar from my hawk encounter is visible on page 12 where my article runs, but seems to have been airbrushed off of my cover shot. Perhaps I wasn't cover girl material...

Isn't It Ironic?

Last week at work I got an email from Andrew that described some of the stuff he had going on that day and it sounded like he was having a bad day. Along with issues with doctor stuff, unreturned phone calls etc., he said that the upstairs toilet had overflowed. He told me that he had quickly grabbed the bathroom rug along with a book and magazine by the toilet to save from water damage before he raced to get the plunger. When I got home that night the bathroom rug and magazine were in the hallway safe from harm. The headline on the magazine in yellow letters seems to be mocking us, yet also screaming irony...

Yeah! More Snow!

-25 means nothing to Cash.

Hmmm....

On a recent trip to Walgreens Andrew and I spied a basket of one of the greatest Easter treats ever (see above). We purchased a couple and later that evening when we dug in I was quite upset to notice that the egg seemed considerably smaller, and made up of less yolk and more shell. An internet search awhile later directed me to the Cadbury website where I posted a comment. Here is my reply:

Thank you for your recent enquiry.

We are pleased to report that the size of the Cadbury Creme Egg has not in fact changed for the past 10 years, and we have no plans at present to alter the size in any way.

We are always very conscious of the need to maintain quality and offer good value for money, particularly in a very competitive market place. We believe that even with the cost of raw materials constantly increasing i.e. cocoa, milk and sugar that the Cadbury's Creme Egg is marketed at a very competitive price.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us and express your concern in this matter and we hope we have answered your question to your satisfaction.

Happy Groundhogs Day

Groundhog Shadow is a No Show
Spring Is Right Around the Corner!

Cloudy Groundhog peeks out to see her Bears cake

Cloudy Groundhog

Friday morning, February 2nd, Cloudy Groundhog, Brookfield Zoo's
resident meteorologist, reluctantly poked her nose out of a cozy
straw-filled den. A crowd of over 200 hearty fans braved single digit
temperatures to watch as the grounhog was was coaxed from her
winter digs with a nutritious, homemade cake prepared especially
for her in the shape of a Chicago Bears helmet. The cold temperature
kept her from taking even one full step out of her burrow, so the furry
forecaster did not see her shadow...which means spring is coming soon!
